When we take time in nature, it’s hard not to see the Creator’s hand in His marvellous creation. We can walk along the beautiful shoreline and see His delicate work in the shells, His great might in the ocean as it crashes to the shore, or His care for the creatures living in the sand beneath our toes. There’s the octopus, the stingray, fish in all shapes and colours, sea horses, whales, and sharks within the sea itself. How wonderful to know that God lovingly made them all for our enjoyment! He is our God, our Inspiration, and our Master Artist!
In Year 8, the students received inspiration from God’s great ocean. They experimented with many painting techniques to create different lines, shapes, colours, and patterns using this theme. Next, they painted the negative space around the image; this made their paintings come to life. Each canvas is 40cm by 50cm and painted with acrylic paint.
